This policy applies to the SwingLog app, website, and connected sensor hardware.

Overview

SwingLog ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your data when you use the SwingLog mobile application, website (swinglog.com), and Bluetooth sensor hardware (collectively, the "Service").

By using SwingLog, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service and contact us to delete your account.

Our core commitment: We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Ever. Your athletic performance data belongs to you.

Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

We do not collect: precise GPS location (unless you opt in), contacts, photos, microphone audio, or camera data.

How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate and deliver the SwingLog app and sensor features
  • Analyze your padel shots and provide real-time feedback
  • Store your session history and display performance trends
  • Send transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates)
  • Send optional product updates and newsletters (you may unsubscribe anytime)
  • Diagnose crashes, bugs, and improve app performance
  • Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations
  • Respond to your support requests
We do not use your motion or athletic data for advertising profiling, and we never share it with advertisers.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We may share limited information with trusted third parties only as necessary:

  • PayPal: Payment processing for hardware orders. We share your name, email, and shipping address solely to complete your purchase.
  • Cloud hosting providers: Our servers may be hosted on AWS or equivalent — data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
  • Analytics providers: Anonymized, aggregated crash and usage data may be shared with tools like Sentry or Firebase Crashlytics to fix bugs.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.

Any third-party service providers we use are contractually bound to handle your data securely and only for the purpose we specify.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Specifically:

  • Session & shot data: Retained according to your plan (30 days for Starter, 90 days for Pro, unlimited for Coach). You may delete individual sessions at any time.
  • Account data: Retained until you delete your account.
  • Order data: Retained for 7 years for legal and tax compliance purposes.
  • Crash logs: Automatically deleted after 90 days.

When you delete your account, we permanently delete all personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Security

We take the security of your data seriously and implement industry-standard safeguards:

  • All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.2+
  • Passwords are hashed using bcrypt — we never store plaintext passwords
  • Sensor data is transmitted over Bluetooth LE with device-level pairing authentication
  • Our servers use encrypted storage and are access-controlled
  • We conduct regular security reviews of our codebase and infrastructure
No system is 100% secure. In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you via email within 72 hours as required by applicable law.

Children's Privacy

SwingLog is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately at privacy@swinglog.com and we will delete that information promptly.

Users between the ages of 13–17 may use SwingLog only with verifiable parental consent.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Request we correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data
  • Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format (CSV export is available in-app)
  • Objection: Object to processing of your data for marketing purposes
  • Restriction: Request we limit processing of your data in certain circumstances

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@swinglog.com or use the Delete Account option in Settings → Account. We will respond within 30 days.

In-app deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data directly from the SwingLog app at any time — no need to email us.

Cookies & Tracking

Our website (swinglog.com) uses minimal cookies necessary to operate:

  • Session cookies: Keep you logged in during your visit. Deleted when you close your browser.
  • Preference cookies: Remember your language preference (ES/EN). Stored for 1 year.
  • Analytics cookies: Anonymized page view data to understand which content is helpful. You may opt out via our cookie banner.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The SwingLog mobile app does not use browser cookies — app sessions are managed via secure server-side tokens.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Post the updated policy on this page with a new "Last Updated" date
  • Send an email notification to registered users at least 14 days before the changes take effect
  • Display an in-app notice the first time you open SwingLog after the update

Your continued use of SwingLog after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. If you disagree with the changes, you may delete your account before they take effect.
