Frequently asked questions
What iOS version does SwingLog require?
SwingLog requires iOS 14.0 or later. We recommend updating to the latest version of iOS for the best performance and Bluetooth reliability.
How do I pair my sensor to the app?
Go to the SwingLog app → Settings → Add Sensor. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your iPhone and that the sensor is charged and powered on (hold the button for 2 seconds). The app will detect the sensor automatically and guide you through pairing.
How long does the sensor battery last?
The sensor battery lasts 8+ hours on a full charge, which covers multiple sessions. You can check the battery level anytime in the app. Charge via the included USB-C cable — a full charge takes about 90 minutes.
Is the sensor waterproof? What happens if it rains?
The SwingLog sensor is splash-resistant (IPX4 rated), meaning it can handle light rain and sweat without issue. However, it is not designed for submersion. Avoid submerging it in water or leaving it in heavy downpours.
Can I use SwingLog with any padel racket?
Yes! SwingLog's mount is designed to fit any standard padel racket grip. The silicone band fits grips between 4.0" and 4.5" in circumference. The sensor adds less than 20g to the end of the handle, so it won't noticeably affect your play.
Why is my shot data not showing in real time?
This is usually a Bluetooth range or interference issue. Make sure your iPhone is within 30 meters of the sensor and there are no other heavy Bluetooth devices nearby. Try closing other apps and toggling Bluetooth off and back on. If the issue persists, try removing and re-pairing the sensor in Settings.
How do I export my session data as CSV?
After ending a session, go to the Session Detail screen and tap the share icon (↑) in the top right. Choose "Export CSV" to save the file to your Files app, AirDrop it, or share it via email. CSV export is included in all plans.
What does "sweet spot accuracy" mean?
The sweet spot is the central zone of your racket face that produces maximum power and control with minimum vibration. SwingLog's IMU sensor detects the impact quality of each shot and calculates what percentage of your hits land in that optimal zone. A higher percentage means more consistent, powerful shots.
How do I delete my account or data?
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account inside the app. This action is permanent and cannot be undone. Alternatively, email us at support@swinglog.com and we will process the deletion within 72 hours.
My sensor won't turn on — what should I do?
First, connect it to a charger for at least 30 minutes. If the LED still doesn't light up, try a different USB-C cable or charger. If the problem persists after a full charge attempt, please contact our support team — we may need to replace the unit under warranty.
Does SwingLog work for tennis or pickleball too?
SwingLog's algorithms are currently optimized for padel. While the sensor physically works on other rackets, shot classification (forehand, bandeja, smash, etc.) and sweet spot tracking are specifically tuned for padel mechanics. Tennis and pickleball support are on our roadmap!
Troubleshooting
Common fixes

📡 Bluetooth not connecting

  • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled in iPhone Settings
  • Hold sensor button 2 sec to power on — LED should flash blue
  • Forget device in iPhone Bluetooth settings and re-pair
  • Restart the SwingLog app and try again
  • Stay within 10m for initial pairing

📉 Inaccurate shot detection

  • Make sure the sensor is mounted firmly on the grip
  • Recalibrate the sensor in Settings → Sensor → Recalibrate
  • Adjust sensitivity level in app settings
  • Avoid very slow practice swings — the sensor detects real match force

🔋 Short battery life

  • Check firmware is up to date in Settings → Sensor → Update
  • Disable haptic feedback if not needed (extends battery ~20%)
  • Fully discharge and recharge once to recalibrate the battery
  • Store sensor at room temperature when not in use

📱 App crashes or freezes

  • Update SwingLog to the latest version from the App Store
  • Restart your iPhone and reopen the app
  • Ensure you have at least 200MB free storage
  • Delete and reinstall the app (your data is cloud-backed)
